Book Review ‘How To Break Up With Your Phone’ by Catherine Price.
I am always one to discover new ways of living a happier and healthier life. I came across this book by Catherine Price about phone addiction and a 30-day guide to lessen your usage. The book encourages you to review your daily habits. Aiding you to reduce your time spent on the phone to embrace new experiences, fulfil your life and to enjoy our precious moments together.
As soon as I read the description regarding the recent studies the book was already in my shopping cart. Catherine references research regarding phone usage affecting your memories, focus and influence your stress hormonal levels. I must admit, as I write my mobile is flashing. After returning an urgent message, this has turned into a semi-quick check on all social media accounts, logging into work emails and my beautiful dog looks at me bored. Where has the 20 minutes gone? It is funny how quickly you pick up on your own habits. I obviously don’t need to read this book (roll eyes).
Over the next 30 days I will be updating you with the read and how healthier I feel following the step-by-step guide.
How much can a phone detox improve your health and what new habits or experiences can I create? A part of me is very excited to get started. The thought of finding spare time and noticing everything around me rather than the ‘head down, thumb scroll’ seems refreshing.
